What's happening at the School?

Plaque unveiling in memory of Kam Wing Li

A memorial plaque was unvelied by Head of School Professor Andy Koronios on May 5 as a tribute to the life of former CIS lecturer Kam Wing Li who passed away last year following illness.

The ceremony was held outside the building of the School's Mawson Lakes Campus as watched on by members of Kam's family and CIS staff members who attended to mark the occasion.

Professor Andy Koronios said Kam will be remembered as a dedicated teacher who went "above and beyond" the call of duty to help both his students and staff.

"This plaque, seat and tree are important symbols to remember Kam by and his legacy within our School. This area (outside Building D) is a great 'hang out' for staff and students and in this way our memories of Kam will live on with great affection," he said.

Kam Wing Li was a pioneer in establishing the School's Hong Kong transnational program in the late 1990s, one of the most successful programs in the School's history and that of the University.
